Margaret Ann Piland, age 69 of Stow, Ohio, died unexpectedly, on July 11, 2022 at her home.
She was born on March 29, 1953 in Akron, the daughter of the late Fred and Margaret (Hansel) Prack.
Margaret worked for the Stow-Munroe Falls City School district, retiring after 30 years of service. She began her career working with students with special needs, treating them with love, care and respect. Later she became an administrative assistant with the school district until retirement.
Margaret was an active member of the Springfield Assembly of God Church, volunteering for various activities.
Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. Her special way of spoiling her husband, children and grandchildren has been noted. She showed her love by feeding her family and friends, you never left hungry.
When anyone needed a friend, she had a smile and a listening ear. She had a heart for people and never knew a stranger.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Evan R. Piland, whom she married on May 26, 1973; her children, Evan J. (Passa) Piland, Erich (Sarah) Piland and Nicole "Nikki" Piland; and her grandchildren, Cara, Jacob, Abigail, Avery, Norah and Paige.
Also surviving is her sister, Susanna (John G.) Horn and two nephews, John F. (Jill) Horn and Peter Horn and their families.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Springfield Assembly of God Church, 1551 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312, where Pastors Eric Schroeter and Matt Miller will celebrate Margaret's life.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305 and at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
Burial will take place at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Peninsula, Ohio.
