Margaret R. Pope, 79, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 9, 2001. She retired from Weaver School as a bus driver after 23 years of service. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Pope; brothers, William and Joseph Skinner; and sister-in-law, Kitty Skinner. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie J. Croghan of the home; sons, William R. (Terri) Pope of Canal Fulton and Charles E. (Theresa) Pope of Munroe Falls; sisters, Mildred (Kenny) Roop of Massillon and Geraldine (Conn) Davis of Lodi; grandchildren, Christine Pope, William (Lena) Pope, Steven (Kay) Pope, Kimberly Pope, Phillip Croghan, Cindy Woodall, and Scott Woodall; great-grandchildren, Danielle, Justine, Jacob, and Rachael Pope; sisters-in-law, Mary Frances, Barb, and Alice; brother-in-law, John. Friends and family may call on Monday, November 12th from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church with Father Paul Rosing officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9-10 a.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Annunciation Catholic Church.
