Margaret Thompson

Mrs. Peggy Thompson was born to Harold Miller and Joana Cady on June 21, 1961 in Akron, OH. The Lord called upon Peggy on April 3rd, 2017 at the age of 55. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 enduring many surgeries and procedures including chemotherapy and radiation. Even after several recurrences she always had a fighting attitude and remained positive. Peggy was looking forward to the day she could re-unite with her husband Richard "Dickie" Thompson in heaven. She was employed at Thermo-Rite Mfg. for eight years until her breast cancer diagnosis.

Peggy was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and sister and was loved by her many friends and family. She was even known to be a second mom to her children's friends. Peggy enjoyed crocheting, traveling to Kentucky, and most of all spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by husband, Richard Thompson; son, Aaron Michael; and her parents, Harold and Joana. Peggy is survived by her three children, Melissa Keith of Bedford, TX, Ryan Keith (Shay Maffo) and Kari Patterson (Robert Springer), both of Akron, OH. Her grandchildren include Joslynn, Braden, Kaitlin, Zander, Emily, Aaron, Raeghan and Arianna. She was the youngest of four siblings – sisters, Ginger (Tom) Clapper of Santa Ana, CA, Anita Hankison of Akron, OH, and brother, Lee (Renee) Miller of Akron, OH. Peggy has many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She has a heart larger than life and will be greatly missed by all.

Family will receive guests on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 11am-3pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, followed by funeral service at 3pm. Pastor Randy Baker officiating.
