Margie E. Martin

Margie E. Martin, 87, went to meet her Lord on April 19, 2010. Margie was born July 28, 1922 in Newark, Ohio. She graduated from West High School in Akron. She was a loving and giving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, with a quick laugh and an even quicker wit. She was also active in the service of her church and her community with the Stow Women's Club, Stow Historical Society, and the PTA. Margie was married for over 60 years to Robert B. Martin, Sr., who passed away in 2002. She is survived by her five sons: Jack (Julie) of South Pasadena, CA; Robert, Jr. (Dona) of Escondido, CA; David (Margo) of Stow; Shawn (Connie) of Granada Hills, CA; and Daniel (Nancy) of Uniontown. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren: John, Jr. (Lori); Susan O'Neil (Colin); David, Jr.; Elysia McDevitt (James); Robert III (Brigid); Barbara Johnson (Mike); Candice Earll (Ryan); Cristyn; Kathryn, and Shawn, Jr., as well as her nine great-grandchildren: Ryan, Marisa, Benjamin, Jenae, Jillian, Micaela, Cailen, Coby, and Luke. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 158 North Avenue, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Pastor William Michaels will officiate. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305.
