Maria Irma Lucas
Maria Irma Lucas, 62, of Akron, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on February 3, 2009. Maria was born in Brownsville, Texas on March 4, 1946 to the late Raul and Rosa Paulita Cisneros. She was a very religious woman and devoted much of her time to reading the Bible. Maria loved life and made friends easily. She enjoyed many activities, especially dancing. Her family will always remember her for her strength and spirit. In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Johnny; and brothers, Ernest and Ruben. She will be deeply missed by her children, Nancy (Campion) Kelley, Raymond (Shelly) Lucas, and Daniel (Jennifer) Lucas; siblings, Rosa "Mini" (Ronald) Rainville, George (Concha) Cisneros, Rosalinda (David) Morris, Lucilla (Richard) Ledbetter, Linda (Jerry) Hahn, and Raul Cisneros Jr.; and grandchildren, Allyson, Matthew, Claudia, Carissa, Tawny, Nathaniel, and Sarah. Special thanks to Dr. Khayyat for all the care given to Maria. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Clark Wood officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
