Maria Schartiger, 75, of Green, passed away February 3, 2008, with her family by her side. Maria was born June 10, 1932 in Nestin, Yugoslavia and came to the United States in 1950. She was a longtime member of the Croation American Club. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Viktoria Mandl and sister, Rosalie Husser. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 56 years, Arlen Schartiger; children, Robert (Linda) Schartiger, Betty Alice, Suzy (Don) Monroe, John (Sandy) Schartiger, and Maggie Schartiger; brother, Frank (Cynthy) Mandl; grandchildren, Bobby, Viki, Kristie, Jamie, Frankie, Tony, Kevin, Bradley, Jerod, Ryan, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Kaela, Jesse, Javid, Jace, Trina, Junior, Daniel, and Kayden; and many other family and friends. Maria was a remarkable woman and she will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, February 17 from 2-5 p.m. at Victory Chapel, 32 W. Bellisle Ave., Akron, 44319. Rev. Robert Webb will officiate a short service.
