Marian Dick, 87, of Akron, passed away October 31, 2011. She was born on September 12, 1924 to the late Leo and Ethel Slinger. Marian will always be remembered as a wonderful hostess with a talent for cooking, baking, and gardening. She enjoyed spending time with family, her dog Molly, and her cat Cassie. Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; sons, Gerald and Thomas; sister, Betty Slinger; and brother, Tom Slinger. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Mary (Gene) Peppe and Pamela (Dana) Sullivan; son, Donald (Shirley) Dick; sister, Mary Lou (Gene) Blakey; brother, Jack (Ruth) Slinger; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Wednesday November 2 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with Mr. Randy Dick officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
