Marian Marie Thomas
Marian Marie Thomas, 81, of Akron, went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2011. She was born on February 19, 1930 in Cuyahoga Falls to the late Arbie and Lucille Thomas. She was a longtime member of Akron Baptist Temple where she taught Sunday School for 50 years. She enjoyed volunteering at University Park Nursing Home and cheering for the Cleveland Indians. Above all she loved Jesus and her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Norman, Robert, and Vernon; and sisters, Jenny and Dorothy. She will be deeply missed by her sister, Leora Long ; many nieces and nephews; and many friends. The family would like to thank special friends, Bonnie Knecht, Jean from ABT, and Jean from University Park Nursing Home. Visitation will be Friday September 30 from 12-2 followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Interment at Restland Cemetery.
