Marie (Stafford) Waddell
On August 5, 2011, Marie Waddell, 94, left this earth and ascended to the Kingdom of God and Jesus Christ. Marie was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. She was an excellent seamstress and homemaker. She was very much a caregiver and volunteer for various duties in the kitchen of her church. Marie never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Floyd Waddell; her only son, Larry; brother-in-law, Chester Waddell; and mother-in-law, Ruth Waddell. She is survived by her brother, Jim Stafford and his children, Lisa and David and grandchildren, Chloe, Madison, and Christian; granddaughter, Connie Livers (husband John) and their daughter and Marie's great-granddaughter, Alexandria; daughter-in-law, Judy Waddell and her children and Marie's grandchildren, Lisa (Steve), Misty (Rusty), and Joshua and Marie's great-grandchildren, Alex, Danny, Russell, Jordan, Jacob and Alyssa; special friends, Mary Spencer and Vicki Chance; special friend and hairdresser, Shelly Karl; special neighbor, Denny Jones; and all of her special friends at the Grace Baptist Church. Marie would wish to thank all of those friends and acquaintances that she knew in her long and wonderful life for their many kindnesses. Marie repaid those kindnesses many times over to many, many people along her life journey. The family wishes to say a special thanks to the Palliative Unit at Akron City Hospital for their excellent care of our beloved Marie. Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held for family and friends on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Baptist Church, 704 North Firestone Blvd., Akron, Ohio (330-773-7884), with Rev. Smith leading the service.
