Marie Slone, 77, of Akron, passed away October 1, 2004. Marie was born in Benham,Kentucky on October 5, 1926 to the late Chester and Maitha Poff. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; son, Jeff; brothers, Wayne and Dee Dee Poff; sister, Pearl Clark; and grandson, James Moye Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Chris (Jim) Moye of Tallmadge and Betty (Lester) Moss of Louisville; sons, Mike (Cheryl) Slone of Arizona and Dave Slone of Alaska; sisters, Brenda Mullins and Linda Bargo; brother, Glenn Poff; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Joyce Carr officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
