Marie Speck
July 24, 1938 — March 4, 2024
Our dear mother Marie Speck sadly passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at age 85, after a battle with congestive heart failure and pneumonia.
Marie was born in Faison, NC (longtime resident of Akron, OH) to Junie "Tom" Andrews and Frances E. (King) Baker.
She was a wonderful wife who dedicated her life to being an amazing full-time mother and grandmother. Always standing by her family and supporting them during their successes and comforting them through their life difficulties. It was forever her mission to improve the lives of her family and friends with love. When she was not busy filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her chair drinking a Pepsi (extra ice) and crocheting a blanket for someone or making crafts. We will miss her smile, her hugs, and her always saying "I Love You." We will always be grateful for her endless love and be forever thinking of her.
Marie is preceded in death by her brother-Thomas Andrews (Earma), son-Jimmy-Joe Speck, daughter-Tonia "Toni" Speck, and survived by husband-James E. Speck, sisters-in-law-Carol Skuban (Paul) and Lana Thomas, sons-Stephen Martin, Michael Martin, David Speck (Jill), Kiowa Speck (Wendy), Duane Speck (Kelly), Joseph Speck (Melissa), and daughters-Denise Trail, Tammy Maximovich, Lynn Arbogast, Melisa Speck, as well as her 32 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Chapel Hill Community Nursing Home and Mercy Hospice for their care and love provided to our mother and the support extended to the family.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
