Marilyn Briner

June 24, 1939 — December 22, 2024

Marilyn Briner, age 85 of Mogadore, Ohio passed away December 22, 2024.

Marilyn was one of ten children born June 24, 1939, to Mona Louise Griggy and Gilbert Edward Griggy in Wadsworth, Ohio. She was raised on a farm and loved to tell her children stories about growing up on the farm. Marilyn graduated from Kent State High School, where she was a majorette and was crowned “Homecoming Queen” in 1957. After graduation she went on to work at City Bank and married Harry Lee Moore. Marilyn was a mother of six children when she met her second husband Keith Harold Briner in 1972 and together, they raised their nine children.

Marilyn loved her children, home projects (always had a project going on), cooking, hosting large family meals and gatherings, (Christmas Eve was one of her favorites). Her door was always open to family and friends, the more the merrier. She loved country music (and only country music) and her favorite country artists were Glenn Cambell, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gail. She loved gardening, decorating for every holiday, reading biographies about her favorite people and stars (Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Elvis Presley, Lady Diana), keeping up with her favorite celebrities, reading the Globe, Enquirer, yard sales, thrifting and collecting (dolls, vintage toys, salt/pepper shakers, watering cans, shoes and purses). Marilyn loved dressing head to toe for all occasions. She loved to tease, play pranks, tell stories, laugh, joke, dance (lasso) and still twirl her baton at 85.

Marilyn was a kid at heart and it showed in all that she loved to do.

In 2022 she relocated to Florida residing in a senior living home, where she made friends instantly. She kept busy with her daughters eating out, getting her nails and hair done, shopping, thrifting, seeing live music, attending art festivals and getting visits from her daughter in Ohio. While spending time at home she loved to use her turntable, playing all her favorites while she colored, did puzzles and most recently paint by numbers, always busy.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Keith Harold Briner, parents Gilbert and Mona Griggy, daughter Holly Ann Milush, stepson Brook Briner, sisters Gene Moore and Judy Lampasone, brothers Tom and Brian Griggy.

She is survived by her children, Tina (Louis) Ramos, Terri Moore, Michelle Moore, Brian Moore, Kristi (Steve) Poole; step children, Tom (Wendy) Briner, Julie Estes; grandchildren, Nichole Moore, Ali Milush, Ryan Milush, Kali (Max) Stone, Holli Simpson, Lainey Simpson, Josie Lorenzo, Madison Peters, Douglas Briner, Miranda Estes; 6 great-grandchildren, sisters; JoAnn Knapp, Sally Trautman, Nancy (Jerry) Knapp, Pat Callan, brother; Chuck (Sheryl) Griggy, son-in-law; Jay Milush and extended family and community.

Marilyn was one of a kind, never to be forgotten and forever in our hearts.
