Marilyn "Gail" Jarvis

Marilyn "Gail" Jarvis, 83, passed away unexpectedly March 30, 2024. Born in Pikeville, TN to Johnny and Mary Edna Wooden, she resided in Portage County, OH all of her adult life. Gail worked alongside her family at Jarvis Industries for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, working puzzles, feeding hummingbirds and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jim; infant son, James; daughter, Theresa Jarvis; siblings, Johny, Jr, Jason, Evelyn, Jake, Aaron. She will be sadly missed by her son, Eric (Julie); grandchildren, Justin (Amanda), Ashley, Erica, Cody; great grandchildren, Jacob, Rowan, Ty, Eli; siblings, Patsy, Martha, Bucky; many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will take place Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Gail's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Akron Children's Hospital.
