Marion L. Lahr
Marion L. Lahr, 89, of Akron, passed away June 25, 2009. Marion was born January 22, 1920 in Lousiville, Ohio. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 39 years of service. Marion was a longtime member of the Chapel and sang in the group Men of Praise. He was a member of Stark Antique Power Association and a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and brother, Wilbur. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Beatrice; children, Connie, David, Mary Lou, and Diane; sister, Audrey; nine grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. and Monday from 10-11 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m., Pastor Eloy Pacheco officiating. Interment at Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his granddaughter Jodi Matthews' ministry, Urban Vision, P.O. Box 1563, Akron, OH 44309.
