Marion Mcgowan

Marion McGowan, 92, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on March 28, 2018. She was born in Akron, OH on May 9, 1925 and resided in Randolph, OH for most of her life. Marion retired after 40+ years of service as a legal secretary with ONeil and Smith. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed baking and cooking, and loved family picnics. The most important part of her life was her grandchildren.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years John P. McGowan; parents, Harry and Emily Conley; and siblings, Edith Conley, Ada (Garvin) Goodson, Evelyn (Pete) Westergaard, Audrey (Marlin) Haas, Laura (Dick) Ryan, Harry (Iris) Conley, Dale Conley, John Thomas Conley. She is survived by her children, Pat McGowan and Emily (Hank) Roberts; grandchildren, Michael, John (Rachel), Megan (Beth), Hillary; sister-in-law, Jackie; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on April 16, 2018 from 5-6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Harbor Light Hospice in her memory.
