Marjorie R. Dobbins, age 89 of Canton, Ohio, died on February 21, 2022 at her home.
She was born on January 8, 1933 in Suffield Twp., Ohio, the daughter of the late Henry and Mabel (nee Etter) Overlow.
In her younger days she liked to ride horses and ponies; she enjoyed the outdoors, cutting firewood with her late husband and fishing. She also was a huge presence in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's lives, attending as many functions as possible. She loved to play cards, travel and wintered in Apache Junction, Arizona for many years.
Prior to the pandemic, she traveled with friends to the Dominican Republic to help the less fortunate in all of their needs; she helped with the Domincan school.
Survivors include her children, Michael Dobbins and Kim (Gino) Caponi; her grandchildren, Sean (Ashley) Dobbins, Kristen (Dante) Antonelli, Paige Dobbins, Chloe Dobbins, Sophia Dobbins, Henry Dobbins, Francesca Dobbins, Angelo (Elizabeth) Caponi, Rocco (Kathleen) Caponi, Marco (Tiffany) Caponi and Sarina (Andrew) Day; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Jackson, Collin, Maximus, Dominic, Mallory, Lucca, Matteo, Nico, Giulietta, Valentina, Lucianna, Gio, Venezia, Ottavia, Tyler, Kameryn, Lauren, Max and Avery.
Other than her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Grover G. Dobbins on December 29, 2017, they were united in marriage on November 27, 1955; and her siblings, Fern Newhouse, Betty Hackworth, Bill Overlow and Annabelle Wise.
Per Marjorie's wishes there will not be any calling hours or services and all arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
Her cremated remains will be interred in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio, with her husband.
