Marjorie R. Frahlich (nee Ringlein), age 78, of Stow, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 7, 2013, after a courageous, brief battle with cancer. Margie was born in Akron, Ohio on January 26, 1935 to the late Jerome and Katherine Ringlein. Margie spent most of her childhood and adult life living on North Hill. As a high school student, Margie won the "Best Student Driver in the City of Akron" contest. Margie most recently worked as a Member Service Representative at the Riverfront YMCA from 2000 to 2010. Margie treasured her time spent with family and friends, and her home was always filled with fun, laughter and an abundance of food for all. Some of her favorite past-times included taking countless photographs, listening to music (especially Engelbert), and enjoying anything that involved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margie is also known for her quick humor, compassion, kindness and generosity.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin J. Frahlich; her brothers and sisters, Cathryn (Ralph) Schmidt, Jerome Ringlein, Jr., Patricia (Bill) Haynes, Richard ("Dick") Ringlein, and Robert Ringlein; her nephews, Shawn Gaffney, Daniel Haynes, Dana Ringlein, and Jimmy Hermann; and her son-in-law, Gary Shrader. She is survived by her cherished children, Mary Kay Shrader, John (Terri) Frahlich, Steve Frahlich, and Linda (Phil) Rhodes; her daughter-in-law, Holly Frahlich; her grandchildren, Stephen (Courtney) Frahlich, Jill (Jake) Sadon, Karen (Kevin) Jakubczak, Doug Frahlich, Kelly (Matthew) Diamond, Kristen Frahlich, Alexandria Rhodes, and Mitchel Rhodes; her great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Lilly, Cadence, and Erik Frahlich, and Baby Boy Sadon; her sisters, Mary Lou (Tom) Gaffney, and Jackie (Ron) Youmans; special niece, Becky Hermann; many loving nieces and nephews; and close life-long friends, Sally, Mary Jane, Marlene and Joan.
A heartfelt thank you to the amazing nurses, physicians, staff and volunteers at Hospice of VNS for their special care and compassion for Margie and her family. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron OH. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery to follow.
