Marjorie C. Thompson

Marjorie C. Thompson, 93, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2017. She was born on January 17, 1924 in Iron City, Tennessee to the late Clarence and Lela Keeton. She was a homemaker and seamstress during her lifetime.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charlie W. Thompson; twin daughters, Barbara and Dorothy; 1 granddaughter, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Marjorie was the loving mother of 8 children, Jasper (Brenda) Thompson of IN, Charles (JoAnn) Thompson of TN, Paulette Thompson of FL, Joyce (Dan) Seale of MO, Glenda (John) Sugg of OH, Sue (Todd) Shimp of OH; 19 grandchildren, Theron, Lori, Michael, Michelle & Angie; Colleen, Darlene and Jimmy; Scott, Michael, and Kimberly; Paul and Jonathan; Lisa, Barbara, Jody, and Johnny; Eric and Michael; 52 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

Friends and family are welcome to Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron on Thursday September 28, 2017 from 4pm-6pm, with a funeral service to immediately follow officiated by Pastor Bill White. Burial will take place at Macedonia Cemetery in Iron City, TN.
