Mark Gerard Khoury

Mark Gerard Khoury, 70, passed away at home on April 15, 2022. Born in St. Louis, Missouri to John and Shirley (Ginn) Khoury, he had been a resident of the Akron, Ohio area since 1960. Mark played football for South High School, where he graduated in 1970. For 25 years he worked delivering fork lift trucks at Ohio Material Handling. Mark had a loud infectious laugh that drew people to him and he enjoyed fishing, grilling, comedy shows and stand up, and most importantly, spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, David Khoury; brother, Matthew Khoury. Mark will be sadly missed by his children, Michelle (Shawn) Powell, John (Dalia) Khoury; grandchildren, Sarah Bittinger, Jared Bittinger, Isabella Powell, Joseph Khoury, Isaac Khoury, Joanna Khoury; siblings, John "Sonny" (Miriam) Khoury, Tom (Joan) Khoury, Samantha Kirby, Khrystal Khoury, Johna Longgood; close friend, Mike LaBarre; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, April 22, 2022 from 12 to 1 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
