Marlon E. "Bear" Sanders, 74, passed away June 10, 2021. Born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, he resided in the
Akron area all of his adult life. He was a U. S. Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam. Bear greatly enjoyed reading, motorcycles, fishing and was actively involved in the AA program.
Preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Imolene Sanders, he will be sadly missed by daughter, Tammy (Sonny) Beck; son, Richard Shaffer; grandchildren, Brandy, Teri, Corey, Kyle (Breanna), McKenzie, Richard; 7 great grandchildren; special friends, Keith, Jim and Noah.
Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Bear's name to the Veteran's organization of their choice.
