Marta Slusser, 81, of Mogadore, passed away July 7, 2008. Marta was born March 21, 1927 in Akron. She had a variety of interests throughout her life that included crafting, playing the organ, and golfing. She had a natural talent for everything she tried her hand at. She and her husband, William raised their family in the Akron area and then enjoyed over twenty years of retirement in Venice, Florida. Marta was preceded in death by her husband, William (1922-2005). She will be deeply missed by her sons, Ronald (Joanne), Dennis (Arlette), and Randy (Caron); sisters, Tessie Novak and Ellen Mahr; sister-in-law and lifelong friend, Jeanne Slusser; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Debbie and Ray Hendricks. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10:30 - 11 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Inurnment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Summa or the American Heart Association.
