Martin J. Nottnagel, "Marty", age 86 of Stow, Ohio, died on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at his home.
He was born on December 10, 1931 in Hinckley, Ohio, the son of the late Leonard J. and Mary M. (nee Eichner) Nottnagel.
Martin was an honorably discharged US Army veteran of the Korean War.
Marty retired in 2001 from Morris Control in Hudson, Ohio, as a mechanic/machinist for many years.
Marty "Loved" to golf and had a huge passion for the sport. He loved to camp with his family and had a cabin at Wingfoot Lake. He also loved football and watched the games on Sunday. Martin also was the grounds keeper at St. Stephen Lutheran Church on Kent Road in Stow.
Survivors include his daughter, Tina Marie Nottnagel of Stow; his grandchildren, Shawn M. (Jessica) Jessel of Akron and Carmen (Dean) White of Massillon; four great-grandchildren, Gracie Hall, Braden Hall, Cooper and Brooke Jessel; and his caregiver and friend, Christopher (Janet) McNeill of Stow.
Other than Martin's parents, those that preceded him in death were his wife, the former Mary Ann Griffiths on November 4, 2004, they were united in marriage in 1956; his daughter, Carol Ann Jessel; his twin baby brother, and a sister, Regina Loehr.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Ryan Gilin will celebrate Martin's life.
Family and friends may gather on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
