Martin Lynn Wiggins, "Marty", age 75, born in Coshocton on May 24, 1941, and passed away peacefully at home on March 19, 2017 after a lengthy battle with heart disease.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years; Dianna Durkin Wiggins; children, Cynthia (Jeff) Hixson and James (Lynn) Wiggins; brother, Mark (Terry) Wiggins; grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Jarrett, Josh, and Noah; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He retired early after a career in car sales/leasing, Marty was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from North High School and living in Green where his children were able to build and raise their families less than one "Hootie Hoot" away.
Marty was first a family man, and that family included an extended group of friends who will dearly miss him. His house was the fun gathering location that will be a cherished memory. Nobody was ever a stranger with Marty, as he was full of life and fascinating stories. People who only met him once would call him "a friend for life". An avid outdoorsman, Marty spent many of his days hunting, fishing, and shooting sports. Passionate about all of God's creatures, which included love for dogs, cats, goats, and of course, chickens.
Calling hours will be at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Road, Uniontown, Ohio, from 2:00-4:00 pm, Friday, March 24, 2017, with a Memorial Mass at 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Summa Foundation and Hospice, PO Box 2090, Akron, OH 44309, in his memory.
