Marvin G. Perdew, Sr.
Marvin G. Perdew, Sr., 76, passed away February 2, 2010 after a long illness. He was born in Eunice, WV on December 12, 1933 to the late Holbert & Margaret (Bandy) Perdew. Marvin had been living in the Akron area for 46 years and 5 years ago moved to N. Canton OH. He was a long distance truck driver for over 35 years. Marvin most recently drove and retired from Yellow Freigh. Marvin was a member of Teamsters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, JoAnn F. (Keener) Perdew; daughters, Sharon (Ed) Krayeski, Debra (Joe) Slabaugh and Barbara (Lindy) Markland; sons, Marvin G. (Chris) Perdew, Jr and Mark (Lisa) Perdew; grandchildren, Josh, Cody, Bryan, Michele, Kimberly, Corey, Matthew and Luke; and one brother, Alvin Perdew. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Mercy Hospice and to the V.A.
