Marvin R. Cecil

Marvin R. Cecil, 73, of Akron, passed away January 28, 2009 at Akron
City Hospital. He was born November 19, 1935 to the late Nile M. &
Almeda M. (Sipple) Cecil. Marvin retired from Coca-Cola after 35 years
of service and was a member of the FOPA Association for over 30 years.
He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, NASCAR, and the
Cleveland Indians. Marvin also enjoyed bowling. Above all, he was a
dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife
of 52 years, Gloria A. (Fernandez) Cecil; daughters, Vicki (Roy)
Hedding and Brenda (Mark) Herold; sons Mark (Peggy) and Randy (Nancy)
Cecil; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will
be Saturday from 3 - 5 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home concluding with a
service at 5:00 PM, Rev. Jim Abe officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
