Mary Alice Apple

Mary Apple, 74, of North Canton went to be with her Lord Jesus on Wednesday, April 24, 2013.

Mary had several painful ailments which are now all gone and there is no more pain in Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alice (Spaulding) Porter and her husband Lynn Apple. Mary leaves behind her sister Sarah (Lew) Webb and brother William Porter along with her four children: Rusty, Kellie (Daryl), Amy and Julie. She also leaves 8 grandchildren: Sarah (Daniel), Marcus (Amanda), Joe, Alex, Patrick, Zachariah, Kyle and Jack along with 2 great grandchildren. She also leaves to grieve her loving Aunt Edith (Mimi) Lack who has lived with her for several years providing many acts of kindness and contributions to her care; as well as her best friend and mentor, Jean Swinhardt. The family is proud that Mary was a retired registered nurse for 53 years, 34 years of sobriety with the assistance of Alcoholics Anonymous and an active member of Akron Bible Church.

Cremation has taken place as per her wishes. Her ashes will be joined with her husband's and then laid to rest in the ocean together. Memorial service will be held for Mary on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Akron Bible Church, 783 Brown Street, Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Akron Bible Church for "Hope Café".
