Mary Alice Murphy

Mary Alice Murphy, 81, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2002. She was born March 13, 1920 to Charles and Grace McDanell. Mary moved to the Akron, where she met and married Frank. She enjoyed crafts, her piano, family and above all life. She is preceeded in death by her husband Frank; son Charles; granddaughter Pamela. She is survived by her sons Patrick (Mary Ellen) Murphy, William M. (Gina) Murphy; daughters Mary Frances (Robert) Abraham, Colleen Murphy, Margaret (Dominic) Chiera, Sue (Mick) Schaad, and Cheryl (William) Osgood; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 7, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., officiating will be Rev. J. Hodges. Family and friends will be recieved at the funeral home Sunday, Jan. 6 from 2 - 5 p.m. Interment will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff of Heather Knoll Nursing Home.
