Mary Ann Congrove, 71, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly May 9, 2016. She was born on January 12, 1945 to Joseph and Mary Fekete. Mary Ann retired from Sterling Jewelers in 2011 after 29 years of service. She loved to garden and on multiple occasions she received the honor of the Most Beautiful Yard award by the City of Akron. Her dog Benji was her world; she enjoyed writing and drawing, and was the queen of QVC. Mary Ann was most proud of her grandchildren and she was the most giving person you could ever meet, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father.
She will be dearly missed by her mother, Mary Fekete; children, Cindy Wellock (fiance Ken Dronebarger), Raymond (Jen) Congrove, and Michael (Taffy) Congrove; sister, Shirley (Vic) Caras; long-time companion, Keith Evanoff; special cousins, John (Michelle) Ochs, of CA and Marilyn (Bill) Kupper; the love of her life, grandchildren, Cory and Justin Wellock, Kayla and Kiersten Congrove, and Haley and Mikel Congrove; and her precious fury Angel, Benji.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where the funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Burial at Tallmadge Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Mary Ann's name to the American Cancer Society.
