Mary Ann Trifero "Maisie", 90, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2023. She was born at home on her family's farm in Wadsworth, Ohio on December 10, 1933, to the late John "Jack" and Sophia Yuhas. She graduated from Garfield High School in 1951. On May 30, 1952, she married Michael Angelo Trifero and they raised their family in Akron and Suffield, Ohio. Mary Ann was a dedicated homemaker for many years. All the neighborhood children loved to hang around her porch because they knew they would receive an extra plate of dinner and dessert from her kitchen. After raising her family, she held several secretarial positions, including in the alumni development office at Kent State University.
Mary Ann and her sisters were very close. They all enjoyed collecting dolls and taking yearly trips together called " The Yuhas Sisters Week". Mary Ann loved to bake and was famous in her family for creating her signature dessert, a made from scratch chocolate pudding.
In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; infant son, Michael; son, Frank; and sister, Sophie.
Mary Ann will be dearly missed by her loving son and caregiver, Thomas. She also leaves her children, John (Kim), Eva (John) Shimamura, and Rose Ann (Jim) Murphy; grandchildren, Shawn Trifero, Jeremy Trifero, Dylan Murphy, Sophia Shimamura, Lennon Murphy, Michael Trifero, and Anthony Trifero; sisters, Connie Beltakis, Joanne Raynow, Becky Maximovich, Julie Ann Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday December 30, 2023 from 9-10 followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St., Akron, Ohio 44301. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
