Mary Blankenship (nee Sayre), age 90, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 13, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio and was a resident of Springfield Township most of her life.
Mary was a devout member of the Uniontown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for 44 years. She was a hard worker, loved country music, incredibly generous, and made the world's best green beans. She will be mostly remembered for her devotion to family, friends, and faith.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Dayton of 53 years and her brother, Charlie Sayre.
Survivors include her loving sons, Billy (Debby) Blankenship of Suffield, OH and Ronnie Dean of West Palm Beach, FL; granddaughters, Jill, Jodi, and Jami; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Samuel, and Kara. Also survived by her siblings, Sonny (Cathy) Sayre, Norma Browder, Ruth Swearingen, Lil (Johnny) Heater, Skip (Teenie) Sayre; and many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet, Blackie.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017, 1:00PM at the Uniontown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4620 Mayfair Road, officiated by lifelong friend, Jeremy Jones.
Newcomer Funeral Home-Akron was in charge of the arrangements.
