Mary Catherine(Miller) Griffin

Mary Catherine (Miller) Griffin, age 104, of Uniontown, Ohio passed away Sunday, September 8th, 2013 at her home. She was born January 15th, 1909 to Albert A. and Rosanna (Jones) Love in Glouster, Ohio. Mary was employed with the University of Akron for 5 years in the Food Service Department until retiring. She was a longtime member of Springfield Baptist Church. Mary was an avid gardener and also enjoyed fishing. Mary also loved to travel throughout the United States with several senior groups.

In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Miller and her second husband, William Griffin and son-in-law, Donald Romig.

She is survived by her children, Jerry A. (Nellie) Miller of Pennsville, OH, Rose Ellen Romig of Uniontown, OH and Linda Nell (Jack) Nicholas of East Liberty, OH; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by many dear and special friends.

The family will receive guests Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. (330-784-3334). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
