Mary Clarenda Catlett (nee Cook)
Mary C. Catlett, 97, of Akron, passed away January 31, 2011. She was born in Buffalo, Ohio on August 29, 1913 to the late Ray and Audrey Cook. She was a credit manager for the Goodyear Service Store for 25 years. Mary was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ. She was an avid baseball and basketball fan and once saw Babe Ruth play in her youth. She also loved to play cards. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Catlett; sister, Dorothy (David) Betz; and brother, Don (Ava) Cook. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Carole Catlett; granddaughter, Michelle (Bruce) Tucker; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Brett, and Brandy Tucker; and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:30-12:00 followed by a 12:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with Pastor Jay Schmidt officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
