Mary F. Davis, 79, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2021. She was born on October 28, 1941 in Akron, Ohio to the late Joseph and Violet Barnhart. She worked as a driver for USHCP for over 30 years, and worked for All Ohio Trucking as a commercial truck driver.
Mary was mom and dad to her own five children, but was known as mom to the whole neighborhood. She was a hardworking and independent woman, who was one of the original "shade tree mechanics." She was a woman who wasn't afraid of a worm or a hook. She loved to go fishing anywhere there was a body of water.
Mary would spend hours playing solitaire on her computer, and enjoyed going to the casino. She loved music, especially country western and gospel, and was a talented cook.
She had a big heart and a kind soul. She volunteered at her church, Calvary Baptist (on White Pond Drive), and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Mary will deeply missed by her sons, Larry "Joe," Norman, and Bobby (Pam) Harrison; and many other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Lynn Barnhart; son, James E. Harrison; sister, Bernie; and brother, Dan.
Visitation will take place on Sunday May 2, 2021 from 3pm until 5pm at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305.
