Mary E. Knepp, age 78, of Brimfield passed away at Akron City Hospital on December 4. Mary had been in failing health for several years. She suffered injuries from a recent fall at home. Mary was born in Akron to Walter and Blanch Winstead. She lived in Suffield-Brimfield most of her life. Mary was a devoted wife and very loyal mother. She was a member of Tallmadge Alliance Church for 27 years and she was a faithful servant of the Lord through her church. Mary enjoyed working in the clothing ministry and serving in Bible Study and foreign missions support. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Blanch Winstead; and brothers, Walter and Kenneth. Mary is survived by her faithful husband of 60 years, Richard "Dick"; two sons: David and his wife, Patty, and Dale; sister, Betty; brother, Harold; numerous nieces and nephews; and Mary's little dog, Scooby. Calling hours at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Monday, December 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at Tallmadge Alliance Church 12 noon Tuesday with Pastor John Wilson officiating, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment at Brimfield Restland Cemetery. Thanks to ICU staff at Akron City Hospital. In lieu of flowers, condolences may be sent to Tallmadge Alliance Church.
