Mary E. Watkins

Mary E. Watkins, 84, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017. She was born on October 20, 1932 in Stow , Ohio to Edward and Josephine Phalen. Mary was employed at General Tire for 22 years. She was a hard worker and a handy fix it herself type of woman. There was nothing she couldn't fix. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, traveling and spending time with her family. Mary could be found every Saturday afternoon at St. Matthew Church.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Marie Watkins.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Harold Watkins; children, Richard ( Nichol) Watkins, Greg (Cathy) Watkins, Karen (Chris) Ratcliff; 9 grandchildren: 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Clara, Madeline, Bernadine; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss Mary dearly.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, Ohio 44305. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St Matthew Church.

Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
