Mary Elizabeth Swecker
Mary Elizabeth Swecker, 74, of Mogadore, passed away December 10, 2011. Mary was born on September 11, 1937 in Akron to the late Ed and Arlona Gambol. Mary will always be remembered as the "Fudge Lady". She was devoted to her husband and children and also extended a hand to those in need. Mary volunteered many hours to visiting and caring for the elderly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward, Donald, Kenneth, and Wayne. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 46 years, Robert Swecker; children, Phyllis (Mark) Madias, Tammy (Rick) Ledford, Vernon Fritz, Lenny (Renee) Swecker, and Kimberly Swecker-Townsend; sister, Phyllis Swacker; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday December 14 from 12-1 followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, 44333.
