Mary Elnora Peters
Mary Elnora Peters, 79, daughter of the late Emmett and Ethel Corwin, passed away on January 5, 2012. She was born July 3, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Pataskala High School in 1950. Throughout her life, she was employed by Jeffrey Manufacturing in Columbus, American Air Filters in Kentucky, and she retired from Sears in 1990 after 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years, Richard Peters, Sr.; children, Faith Ann Ortega (Robert) and Richard Peters, Jr. (Debbie); grandchildren, Matthew (Gina), Joshua, Rachel, and Hannah Ortega, Ricky and Joey Peters; great-grandchildren, Sophie and Levi Ortega, and Makennah Ortega. Visitation will be Tuesday January 10 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Visitation will be Wednesday January 11 from 10-11 followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service, Pastor Brenda Young officiating, at Cornerstone Free Methodist Church, 578 Killian Rd., Akron. Interment will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Jersey Presbyterian Cemetery in Jersey, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
