Mary A. Francis, 84, passed away on May 18, 2007. She was born in Akron on May 16, 1923 to the late Robert and Catherine Francis. Mary worked as a crossing guard for Akron city schools for 30 years. She also worked as an Avon representative for many years. Mary attended Annunciation Catholic Church and loved to play Bingo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra McCallum; brothers William and Danny Francis; and sister Linda Brooks. Survivors include son Robert J. Scianna; brothers Robert Francis, Jr. and Thomas (Rosemary) Francis; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many loving and caring family members and friends. Calling hours will be Monday, 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
