Mary Ann Graves

Mary Ann Graves, 83, of Akron, passed away on August 19, 2024. She was born on February 12, 1941 the daughter of the late Wallace and Edith Phillips of Buffalo, NY. She was a woman of faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brunswick, MD and Silverdale Baptist Church of Silverdale , WA. Mary Ann was an avid traveler, proudly visiting 49 states. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, scrapbooking and reading. Mary Ann would challenge anyone to a competitive game of "Aggravation". She loved her family and the times spent together. She was the keeper of the Family Birthday/Anniversary Calendar, and sent them out every Christmas. She will be missed by all who knew her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Delbert Graves; brother Steve Phillips; sister Peggy Gardner; and beloved son John W. Nokes. 

Mary Ann is survived by her loving family, children Laura J. (Kevin) Hysell, Marie A. Docter, and Philip E. (Kristie) Graves; 20 grandchildren, Kip Ian (Julie)Dowey, Cory W (Kayla)Dowey, Elizabeth (Dave) Barbusci, Heather (Dale) Davenport, Kody (Kylee)Hysell, Kolton Hysell, John Douglas(Kayleigh)Nokes, Austin J (Kaylee) Docter, Bailey (Sean)Docter, Cameron Docter, Kara Graves, Ethan Graves, Owen Graves, Elliana Graves, Briella Graves; 14 great-grandchildren, August, Harmony, Noah, Everly, Oliver, Warren, Bradley, Marshall, Skylar, Luna, Abeline, Finn, Eli, Marceline; sisters Linda Ramsey, and Shirley Casey; and many nieces, nephews and friends. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 31st, at 3:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church in Knoxville, MD and in lieu of flowers gifts may be sent in her name to The Crossings Church, PO Box 27 Brunswick, MD 21716.
