Mary L. Hefner

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Hefner, age 71, announce her passing.

Mary was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Clarence Akin and Florence (Smith) Perkins.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 51 years, Edward Hefner; daughter, Monica (Stephen) Dever; grandchildren, Saige (Travis) Gilley and Sgt Jacob Dever of the US Army; brother, Clifton (Sue) Akin; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary also had many cherished childhood friends that were just like family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, G. David Akin.

Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends, she was an avid reader. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was always there when her family needed her most offering support, wisdom with sass and love.

Per Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place.

Please join Mary's family for a Celebration of her Life on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 2pm at Kids Ahead (726 S. Cleveland Avenue, Mogadore, OH 44260).
