Mary Jane Horvath

Mary Jane Horvath, age 91 of Akron went home to be with Jesus on Friday, December 11, 2020. She was born in Akron on September 27, 1929, the daughter of the late Charles and Beulah {Ankeny} Burdenstock.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her aunt Twila Marple, daughter Diane, grandson Brian Trumphour, brother Gerald Burdenstock and sister Betty Cristo.

Mary retired from Summa Akron City Hospital, volunteering her free time at The Haven of Rest in Akron, as a member of the Women's Auxiliary. Mary was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Uniontown, and strengthened her faith by reading her bible daily. She shared 71 wonderful years of marriage with Robert, and enjoyed cooking for their family and gardening. Mary was a faithful wife, mother and grandmother, and will be dearly missed by many.

Left to carry on Mary's legacy of faith and love are her husband, Robert; children Edward Horvath, Juli (Paul) Trumphour, Zee Shanafelt, John (Valerie) Horvath; grandchildren Mary and Eric Horvath, Mark and Danny Trumphour, Amy (Stephen) Ross, Alyse Shanafelt; granddaughter-in-law Kim Trumphour; great-grandchildren Erica Dawn, Kevin, Jonathan, Lauren and Charlee Ayn.

There will be a private graveside for immediate family at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. There will be a celebration of life for any family of Robert and Mary on Saturday, December 26, at 11:30 a.m. at 369 7th St. NE Barberton, OH 44203.
