Mary Jane McFarland, 84, went on to meet the love of her life, Vince, on September 17, 2012. Mary Jane was a member of St. Matthew's Parish for 54 years, the Ladies Guild, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Hoban Mother's Club, the Hibernian Society, and was a Girl Scout leader for 9 years. She volunteered for the Red Cross for 9 years and loved knitting, sewing, painting, and sailing.
Preceded in death by her husband, Vincent, of 53 years; brothers, Jerry, Walter, and Dick Bolanz; and sister, Ann Blubaugh.
She is survived by sons, Michael P. (Teri), Timothy L. (Carolyn), and Sean V.; daughters, Susan P. (Gary) Baker and Sharon A. (Michael) Allen; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom (Mary Alice) and David Bolanz; sister, Joan Wittensoldner.
Calling hours will be Monday, 5-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Prayers will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
