Mary V. Kazias, Born August 15, 1933 in Florina Greece, the daughter of the late Vasilios Chrisochoidis and Anna Chrisochoidou.
Mary went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2021 at the age of 88, in Akron Ohio.
Mary attended school in the city of Florina in Greece. She met the love of her life and future husband, Tom S. Kazias. They were joined in holy matrimony on July 14, 1957 and were married for 51 years. Their union was blessed with one child, Christ Tom Kazias.
In 1957 Mary and Tom headed for America, where they settled in Mansfield, Ohio. Mary was a homemaker and also worked at the Greek Orthodox Church as a server for special occasions but most of all she took wonderful care of her family. Her love for her family was second to none. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose love and smile will be greatly missed by each and every one in her family, including her many friends. Mary lived her life full of love for her family and others but mostly for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The amount of joy that they brought to her was wonderful.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Tom S. Kazias in the year 2009; her sisters, Tula and Eftihoula and her brother, Bobby.
Mary is survived by her son, Christ T. Kazias; her daughters, Olga (Spiro) and Helen (Stavros); her sister, Elenitsa; and her brother-in-law, George (Nancy); her daughters-in-law, Cecily and Cindy (mother to Tommy and Christa); her grandchildren, Christa (Josh), Tommy (Samantha), Joann (Elia), Christine (Ivan), Angie (Pat), Sam (Beth), Elizabeth (Marc) and John Lazarou; her great-grandchildren, Autumn, Violet and Olivia.
Also surviving are her nieces and nephews in Greece, Mary (Aristeides), Thanos (Stoula), Bill (Efi), Anna (Costas) and Rita (Andreas); and great-nephews and great-nieces; Mary was blessed with so many that it is impossible to list them all, but know that she loved each and every one of them and that they all brought joy to her heart!
Mary had the wonderful opportunity to go back to Greece with her granddaughter, Christa, in 2012 and visit all of her relatives. She was so happy to have been able to see them.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 29 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 South Union Street, Akron, OH., funeral Services will follow the viewing at 11:00 AM with Father Jerry Hall celebrating Mary's life.
Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband in Mount Peace Cemetery, 183 Aqueduct St., Akron, OH., immediately following the funeral services.
