Mary Lou Hutchison, 92, passed away on August 7, 2022. She was born in Akron, Ohio on June 24, 1930.
Mary Lou retired after 30 years of dedicated service with General Tire. She was a talented seamstress who also made beautiful needle point pieces. She enjoyed golfing and bowling in leagues and with her family. Mary Lou was an avid reader. She had fun with her late husband, John on their many trips to Maine. Mary Lou was well known for her delicious baking skills, making elaborate cookies for her grandchildren's weddings and other special occasions. She will always be remembered for her loving heart, a beautiful smile, and her great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Hutchison; daughter Deborah Lou Layne; son Michael Owen Wood Sr.; brother Bill Doyle; grandson Michael Owen Wood Jr.; granddaughter Shelly Montgomery; and daughter-in-law Karen Wood.
Mary Lou is survived by her loving family, daughter Rebecca (Ralph) Reinke; sons James H. Wood Sr., and Donald L. (Sue) Wood; grandchildren Laura Wagner, Tina Shaw, James Wood, Roberta Wood, Stephanie Peterson, Leslie Breznai, Darcie Wood, Justin Layne and Scott Layne; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other beloved family and friends.
Private inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
