Mary Ellen Low (nee Barron), 91, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on October 26, 2022. She was born in Akron, Ohio on May 13, 1931 to the late Gladys and William Chandler Barron. Mary Ellen was very active in the Summit County Saddlehorse Association, serving over the years as President, Vice President, and Secretary. She was Horse Bowl Coach for several years, including 1980 when she took them to the National Championships in Chicago. She and her late Husband, Curt were Summit County Fair Board Directors for many years where she was on numerous committees, including Youth Promotion, Camping, Constitution, and Ribbons & Trophies all while serving as the liaison for the Fairboard Saddle Club. They raised Quarter Horses and supported the 4-H Horse program. They were avid campers and were members of the Buckeye Cruisers camping club. Mary Ellen loved the various RVs they owned throughout the years, taking pride in making each one their home away from home.
In addition to her parents, Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, George "Curt" Low and her sister, Barbara Jean "Jeanie" Detweiler. She will be dearly missed by her brother, Michael Bilich (Kathy), Her sons William C. "Bill" Low (Kelley) and Terry L. Low (Michelle). She leaves her Grandchildren, William M. "Matt" Low (Lisa), Miranda B. Filon, Angela M. Low, and Sabrina E. Low (Chris) and her Great grandchildren, William Low, Kellysue Low, Ella Filon and Eva Filon.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N.
