Mary M. Kovalchik

Mary M. Kovalchik 84, passed away on October 28, 2015. She was born in Moorefield, OH and lived most of her adult life in the Akron area. She was an avid quilter, active square dancer, and volunteer at her church, Firestone Park Presbyterian. Mary also took pleasure in camping and spending time with her family, who affectionately referred to her as Mamaw. She loved her pets, both past and present.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and grandson, Jacob Barger. Mary is survived by daughters, Christina (Michael) Douglas, Lynn (Pat Liles) Chapman, and Rebecca (Phil) Barger; grandchildren, Aaron (Michelle Sacia) Douglas, Abigail Douglas, Alissa (Robert) Bachtel, and Sarah Barger; great-grandson, Landon; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 31, 2015 at 11am at Stow Presbyterian Church 4150 Fishcreek Rd. Stow, OH. Rev. Bob Stanley and Wally Kukuk officiating. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army or Haven of Rest.
