Mary Elizabeth Ramsey

Mary Elizabeth Ramsey, 86, of Tallmadge, passed away on January 25, 2023. She was born on December 21, 1936 to the late Ford White and Ruth (Charles) {Smith} Gallatin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands James Schmidt and Donald Ramsey; step-daughter Carrie Hartney; grandchildren Benjamin and Pamela Hartney; brother-in-law Duane Warner.
Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Lori (Larry) Mancini; son, David (Linda) Schmidt; step-daughters Jennifer Ramsey and Lisa (Todd) Shaffer; grandchildren Steven (Christine Gibboni) Bushong, Jason (Katelynn) Schmidt, Angela (Mike) Grieshammer, Brandon (Shannon) Schmidt, Maridith Shaffer, Colton Schmidt; great-grandchildren Nora, Kinsley and Coen Schmidt, Kael and Adeline Vallowe; sister Martha Warner; brother Edward Gallatin.
Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother, with a giving spirit and a smile that would melt your heart. She was a hard worker, who took pride in setting an example for her family (and maybe using the extra funds to spoil her grandkids and shop at Macy's). Mary loved the weeks she spent at Folly Beach with her family.
Mary was as beautiful on the inside as she was outwardly, and she will be incredibly missed by those blessed enough to know and love her. She fought a long battle with grace, and her family finds comfort in knowing that she is at peace. The family will miss her home cooked meals, and pass her recipes along for generations to come.
All are welcome to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Monday, February 6, from 10:00 a.m. until the memorial service begins at 12:00 p.m.
