Mary Sue Thompson
Mary Sue Thompson, 85, passed away July 25, 2012. She was born on April 30, 1927 to Leonard Elvis and Docia Beulah Brown in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
Mary Sue lost her mother at the tender age of 3 and was raised by her father along with sisters, Patsy, Allene, Alma, Thelma, and brother, Bill. In the fall of 1948 Mary Sue was married to Thomas Thompson of Waverly, Tennessee. Sue was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple and an Eastern Star.
Sue is survived by her two sons, Thomas R. "Randy" Thompson of Green, Ohio and Lloyd D. Thompson of Boiling Springs, SC; two half sisters, Carolyn and Nancy; one half brother, Clyde all of Middle Tennessee; grandchildren, Linnie, Jason, Justin, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
After a long and loving life, surrounded by family in her home, Sue accepted her "Angel Wings" the morning of July 25th. She is now with GOD and those who passed before her. The family would like to thank the many friends and neighbors who have offered love and support during the last several days. We also would like to thank the staff at Akron General Hospital, Visiting Nurses, and Hospice Care and her new friends from Facebook.
Calling hours will be TODAY, Friday July 27 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. A graveside service will be held Saturday July 28 at 10 a.m. at Hillside Memorial Park. Everyone please meet in the cemetery parking lot. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
