Mary T. Lawrence, 83, a lifelong resident of Tallmadge, passed away September 25, 2006 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born May 29, 1923 in West Virginia to the late Carmelo & Grace (D'Arrigo) Riposo. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Victory Parish in Tallmadge and the Order of Owls. She and her husband, Edward, owned Larry's Restaurant for 30 years. Mary loved to cook and was an avid card player. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Pete John and infant Pete. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Edward Dale Lawrence of Tallmadge; sons, Edward Frank Lawrence and Michael Lawrence both of Tallmadge; grandchild, Juliann Lawrence of Akron; sisters, Jennie (Albert) Difiore of Akron, Josephine Borelle of Akron and Carmen (Bill) Widmyer of Michigan; brother, Anthony (Mildred) Riposo of Akron; daughter-in-law, Tina; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Fr. John Hengle officiating. Interment will follow at Tallmadge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or the charity of one's choice.
