Mary Ruth Williams

Mary Ruth Williams, 65, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2018 at home, after a year long battle with cancer. Mary was born October 6, 1952, in Akron, Ohio. She was the loving daughter to two very special parents, the late Ralph and Martha Cuppett.

Mary thoroughly loved everyone she met and everyone that met her felt the same. Her family and friends meant the world to her. From the start of her life until the end, she touched so many lives. Mary graduated from Springfield High school in 1971. Singing was her passion. She was in a band, Storm, and loved to entertain and sing for people. Her voice was beautiful as was she. Mary also loved to bake. She was truly an amazing baker. When Christmas came around, her favorite holiday, the smell from the kitchen was wonderful. Walking into Mary's house around Christmas time was like a winter wonderland and always made everyone happy.

Fifteen years ago Mary married the love of her life Dana. They were a perfect pair. Some of their favorite times together were spent sitting in the back yard around the fire, traveling to some amazing places, having family and friends over or simply just enjoying their morning cup of coffee together. Their fondest memory was getting in the car and traveling to the New England states. With no plan, they just set out to stay anywhere and see everything. They had a blast Zip lining. It was the best vacation of their lives. Mary has two beautiful daughters, Jennifer and Alexis, whom she loved immensely and who were the light of her life. Quality time with her girls always made her heart smile and her days bright. Her grandchildren were also her moon and stars. Gram and Pap's house was the highlight of the summer every year. For 6 weeks, laughter and a lifetime of memories were made that they will never forget. Mary will be missed by so many. She was a woman of true grace and dignity. Mary will be watching down on us from the heavens with her precious cats Boots and Bella. Her beautiful smile and loving heart will live on with all of us forever.

Mary is survived by her husband Dana Williams, daughters Jennifer (Eric) Cowden, Alexis Farrell (Fiancé Mike Slusser), four sisters who she loved dearly, Gladys (Bill) Cobb, Joanne (Charles) Sprague, Turha (Bill) Prince and Elizabeth Parsons; grandchildren Camryn, Cooper and Spencer as well as many more family and friends.

A celebration of life in memory of Mary will be held September 1, 2018 from 12-3 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio with the service following immediately after.
